GH has successfully established his own research line within a short-time spam (h-index 21 after 18 years). During his career, he has already had the opportunity to work in both the academia and the industry with international experience. He was a Research Investigator in the department of Neurobiology of Millennium Pharmaceuticals (Cambridge, MA, USA, 1 year) where he worked in the discovery of new targets for Neuropathic Pain. As a result of this work, he published 3 JCR articles as a first author. Then, he moved to the Molecular and Experimental Medicine department of The Scripps Research Institute (La Jolla, CA, USA) for a 3-year postdoctoral training. Because of this work, he published 12 JCR articles. He returned to the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University CEU San Pablo (Madrid, Spain) in September 2006. During the last 12 years, he has obtained 5 competitive projects funded by the Spanish government and two patents; he has published 44 JCR articles, one book, 3 book chapters and he was participating as invited speaker in 7 international conferences.

He is the coordinator of the bilingual program of Pharmacy CEU-The University of Chicago since 2007. He forms part of the ethical committee for animal experimentation of CEU University and has participated in an international consortium for biomedical imaging together with the MIT institute (Cambridge, MA, USA). He is part of different editorial committees and organizes international symposiums. GH has an extensive supervising experience considering his short career with already 4 PhD students and 31 undergraduate students. He has also supervised one MS student and one post-doctoral researcher during 3 years. He is a member of the network of mentors to teams of the MIT-linQ IDEA Global for biomedical innovators. He also serves as expert evaluator of proposals in several international bodies including the European Union H2020 (call H2020-MSCA-ITN).
