Short Presentation

Domingo Barber has a PhD in Biochemistry. Since May 2013 is Director of the Institute of Applied Molecular Medicine (IMMA) at San Pablo CEU University Medical School Since May 2013, at IMMA, he has promoted different research lines in Cancer, Regenerative Medicine and Autoimmunity. He started a Research Program in Allergy and Inflammation. To date this program has 5 different funded projects with three different Principal Investigators. He coordinates a multicenter research projects with 5 different centers (four Hospitals on The National Health System). He participates as Group Leader in RETIC ARAYDAL RD/16/0006 and coordinates Program 3; Severe allergic phenotypes: Understanding and predicting interventions. During 25 years before his incorporation to Academia, he worked in different positions in the Pharmaceutical Company ALK-Abello, that is the main World Pharmaceutical Company in the field of specific allergy. During these years he contributed to the development of the Company, participating in the discovery, development and commercialization of different products, including fast disolving tablets for sublingual Immunotherapy, that constitute the main pipeline of ALK-abello. The product was proposed by Domingo Barber. Moreover, he participated in the development of new in vivo and vitro diagnosis strategies. During these years he collaborated with multiple clnical and basic groups, promoting the implementation of new clinical protocols in the allergy practice. Currently is part of international working groups and task force in different European societies.
